LVA admin building in Halle/Saale

The request of the client for the provision of maximum flexibility in the conference and meeting rooms of the LVA's (State Social Insurance Agency) newly constructed
administration building in the town of Halle (Germany) was duly satisfied by DORMA Hüppe.
In this project, the imaginative layout specifications incorporated in the land development and zoning plans placed considerable demands on the room layout and partitioning concept.

The new horizontal mobile wall systems were required to provide an organic extension
to the circular shape of the architectural concept.
With a total of 48 sliding Variflex elements, DORMA Hüppe created a flexible system of conference/function rooms (one for approx. 60 people and three for approx.
25 people). Designed in the form of circular segments in a ring configuration, these surround the entrance hall from which they are also accessible.
The conference rooms with their Variflex partitions can be divided or combined as
required – both with each other and with the central area. Moving all the elements to their parked position creates a large single space for major events, the optical centre of which lies below the round domed roof-light (cupola).

Contrasting combinations of the selected materials contribute to an atmosphere in which people naturally feel at ease.
The interplay between teak and mahogany-coloured floors with light, bright maple veneers on the Variflex elements has a refreshing and welcoming effect.
In addition, the DORMA Hüppe movable walls set the required tone with their high-grade metallic finishes.
Taken as a whole, the system really does offer all-round flexibility.
